Gian Paul has over 20 years in the aviation industry, initially specializing in Quality Management Systems and Safety Management, where he was responsible for the implementation of ISO standards and IOSA recertification. He was one of the principal auditor leads at Avianca and spent over four years working in Ground Handling Operations, where he co-led ISAGO certifications before joining the Avianca Safety Department. A key initiative involved developing and implementing a “Just Culture” program and standardizing oversight of the Group’s Safety Management System (SMS) programs.

Gian Paul is passionate about aviation safety, which led him to develop his master’s thesis in Engineering Management and Applied Data Analytics, focusing on risk identification through analytical models and continuous improvement techniques.

He leads and supports many client projects across the Americas region, including ERP implementation verifications, IOSA implementation processes (ORM, GRH, CAB), IOSA auditing, and instruction at LASC in SMS, AQA, BIA, ERP, TEM, and ORM. He is also a GTRA and AMSET specialist.
